"Everyone can be great...because anybody can serve."-Martin Luther King Jr.
In 1994 Congress designated Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day a National Day of Service. Since then, volunteers have been donating their time and efforts to spread goodness to all.
Our Nampa West Stake Presidency and JustServe Committee invite you and your family in uplifting and uniting our community during the month of January.
How can you make an impact?
Service can be done in any place at any time.
Some examples of service may include:
- reaching out to a neighbor and perform an act of kindness
- share your family home evening with a lonely widow(er)
- for family home evening make a plate of cookies and share them
- pay a visit to a nursing home
- offer to get groceries for someone in need
- pick up the phone and call someone you haven't talked to for a while
- set a goal as a family to do an act of service each day
- use JustServe.org or the JustServe app to find opportunities to serve in your community
- pray for inspiration and then act.
As you serve, it unites many, giving people hope, healing and a sense of belonging. Then we would love to hear about your service. Return and report to this post, because service is contagious.
